Your next race day, from above.
Little Brother turns the phones and watches sailors already own into race trackers. Every race comes back as a 3D virtual drone replay, plus a classic tracker map with stats for coaching.
One app, four very different reasons to like it.
Club TVOpen your Club TV link on any clubhouse screen and the last race day plays on a loop in the bar.
Add a keyboard and mouse and it becomes a kiosk. Anyone can replay their own race, pick a class or compare rival boats.
They can fly the drone over the race, and even record their own clips of the best moments to share.
Share drone videos of the start and first beat in one click. Fifteen minutes of racing in four, ready for the club’s socials.
The questions that usually decide it.
Little Brother is paid for by the club, never by sailors.
We set your club up, you race with it, and you decide if it’s worth keeping.
No. There’s no hardware and no accounts. Sailors download the app, enter their name, sail number, crew and boat once, and tap Start.
No. The app is designed to show nothing, so it does not aid a sailor during a race.
No. Lap and finish times from GPS are labelled unofficial. Your race officer’s times are always the official ones, and can be typed in to replace the estimates.
Very little. Enter a start and finish time for each race, before racing or after, and edit them any time. If your club has no weather station we can read automatically, add the wind speed and direction too. State of tide is optional.
Marks can be dropped from the patrol boat, placed by AlgoMarks, or added afterwards from the tracks.
No. Your club’s sailing area is drawn as a boundary on the map. This is called geofencing.
When a sailor taps Stop, all recording stops. If they forget, the app reminds them. And because the sailing area is geofenced, any data from outside it is dropped from our server.
So nothing is kept about where sailors go before or after racing.
Sailors only give their name, crew name, sail number and boat. No email, no account.
By design, video exports show only the sail number and, at most, a first name and last name initial, and published replay links only show the sail number and the first and last names of the helm and crew.
Because we hold so little, removal requests almost never come up. That keeps data risk and admin for the club practically zero.
Races delete themselves after a set period unless a coach or club admin saves them, and a club admin can delete any race at any time.
Copy it and send it to your commodore, sailing secretary or race officer.
Subject 3D replays for our club races?
I’ve found Little Brother, an app that turns our phones and watches into race trackers and replays every race in 3D. You can fly a virtual drone over the replay and share clips of our starts.
No hardware, no sailor accounts, no extra work for the race officer, and it’s free to try. Could we test it for a race or two?

I’ve been looking at Little Brother, a sail tracking app that generates full 3D replays and video highlights of races using just sailors’ phones or watches. You can even fly a virtual drone over the replay to record and share clips.
It seems like a great way to boost post-race clubhouse banter and give us cool video clips of our starts to share online. Plus, it has built-in VMG and analytics for coaching.
It’s free to try, requires no hardware, and doesn’t add work for the race officer or require sailors to set up accounts.
Would the committee be open to testing it out for a race or two?
